The Guild of One-Name Studies will be at the FamilyRoots Seminar in Calgary, September 23, 2017, sponsored by the Alberta Family Histories Society.
Jim Benedict, a Guild Regional Representative, will be manning the Guild display table during the breaks, and would be delighted to meet with you and discuss your surname research, and the benefits of Guild membership. If you have any interest in the Guild’s Members’ Websites Project (the MWP), where the Guild can host, support and preserve your surname study website, as with this Saggers One-Name Study website, then you will want to drop by the table. As the TNG coordinator for the MWP, Jim will have the site on display. You will get a chance to see a live demonstration of members’ websites, ask any questions and get guidance on using this fantastic service of the Guild.
If you have not heard about the conference, it promises to be very worthwhile. An all-day conference, with optional dinner the Friday evening before, the day will have 12 sessions in three concurrent streams: for beginners, experienced and advanced family history researchers. Featured speakers are – Dave Obee, John Althouse, and Lesley Anderson. Check out the full conference information and registration at http://afhs.ab.ca/familyroots/.
